【解説 / Commentary】
【Netflix配信】永遠のセックスシンボルとも言われたハリウッドの伝説の映画スター、マリリン・モンローの波乱に満ちた生涯に迫る伝記ドラマ。ジョイス・キャロル・オーツによる小説「ブロンドマリリン・モンローの生涯」を原作に、彼女が女優として成功を収める一方で、数多くの複雑な男性遍歴を重ねていく姿を、事実とフィクションを交えながら描き、彼女の苦悩と素顔に迫っていく。監督・脚本は『ジャッキー・コーガン』などのアンドリュー・ドミニク。マリリンことノーマ・ジーンを『007 ノー・タイム・トゥ・ダイ』などのアナ・デ・アルマスが熱演するほか、『戦場のピアニスト』などのエイドリアン・ブロディ、『アイリッシュマン』などのボビー・カナヴェイル、『エルヴィス』などのゼイヴィア・サミュエルらが共演。第79回ベネチア国際映画祭コンペティション部門に選出された。

【ストーリー / Story】
不安定な幼少期を過ごしたのち、映画スターへの道を歩み始めたノーマ・ジーン（アナ・デ・アルマス）。女優マリリン・モンローとして『紳士は金髪がお好き』などに出演して一躍トップスターとなった彼女は、ハリウッドのセックスシンボルとして脚光を浴びる。しかしその裏側では、波乱に満ちた私生活と、名声がもたらした思わぬ代償、本来の自分であるノーマと、世間がイメージするマリリンという虚像とのギャップに苦しんでいたが……。

[Netflix distribution] A biographical drama that approaches the turbulent life of legendary Hollywood movie star Marilyn Monroe, who was said to be an eternal sex symbol. Based on Joyce Carol Oates's novel "The Blond Girlfriend: The Life of Marilyn Monroe", while she is successful as an actress, she goes through many complicated male careers, mixing facts and fiction. Drawing, approaching her anguish and true face. Directed and written by Andrew Dominic ("Jackie Corgan"). Ana de Armas, such as "007 No Time to Die", performs Marilyn Norma Jean enthusiastically, Adrien Brody such as "The Pianist of the Battlefield", Bobby Cannavale such as "The Irishman", Xavier Samuel and others such as "Elvis" co-star.
